Friday's Feast

Appetizer

What are you proud of?

Oh, so many things! I'm proud of my husband for working so hard at his own busineess. I'm proud that my daughter is ranked 23rd in her class of 137. I'm proud of my Awana girls, especially the unchurched ones, that come to class and have worked hard at learning their Bible verses. I'm proud that my three children are so loving and kind and have a heart for people.

What is the best thing you’ve ever won as a prize?

I am usually pretty luck when it comes to winning things. I've never won anything like a car or a trip, but I recently won a book, "Gifts" that I am anxiously waiting for. I recently won some kind of car part that sells for over $200 so I am going to e-Bay it and see what happens! I've won jackets and Nintendo games and stuff like that. I would have to say the best thing I ever won was a pecan pie! It was at our Spring Fling in elementary school. My father loved pecan pie and so did I. Remember doing The Cake Walk at these things? I patiently walked and waited for the music to stop. My heart pounded out of control as they reached in to pull a number. I looked down to see where I was standing. I looked at my daddy with a big grin! YES! They pulled my number out! I knew exactly which prize I wanted. I was so happy I won that pecan pie for my daddy and me!

Salad

Name something you do that is a waste of time.

Scratching. I should have others scratch my itches while I blog!!!!

Main Course

In what year of your life did you change the most?

Hmmm, that's a really good question. I suppose it would be in 1982 when I graduated from high school and got a job on my own. I started becoming a little more independent. I also met by future hubby in November of that year!

Where is a place you consider to be very tranquil?

I dunno, the Sea of Tranquility? Okay, not funny, huh? The best place I can think of is on my grandmother's porch in Cumberland Gap, Tennessee. I spent many summers sitting on the porch swing just watching, listening and smelling the great outdoors. Beautiful country!

Dear potential best friend...loved your answers and your feast. Your grandmother's porch sounds peaceful.

I would love to have a porch with a swing on it, just to pass time and watch the kids play and take everything in.
Learning bible verses was alot of fun when I was growing up on Weds. nights. After we learned so many we got our very own Bible. I still remember how cool that was.
Have a great weekend Amy!

You are so lucky to have won that book, Amy. I didn't win but I'm going to buy it. Great Friday's feast.

Okay, I'm not trying to be obnoxious, but I was born in 1982! Since I'm a first year teacher I wish I graduated hs in 1982! I also love Tennessee!! :)

Hi Amy. Thank you very much for the birthday greetings. I really appreciate your thoughtfulness.

I was a little busy this week and wasn't able to play along for FF but thank for sharing yours.

You're blessed to have a hardworking husband and wonderful children. A blessing that you should really be proud of.

Happy weekend and God bless.

Porches are neat. We recently screened in my mother's porch so she could enjoy it more. I'm glad you decided to "join" Friday's Feast. I've met a lot of really neat people through FF.

Have a great weekend.

Haha, yes I am a little young for the initial airing of Kotter, but for a few years when I was like 10-12 or so, Nick at Nite had it on their nightly line up. I loved it! I agree that the Dawsons' actors were/are pretty good! Thanks for stopping by!

The Sea of Tranquility would be beautiful and indeed tranquil, but I'm hoping for a hotel first. Underground, so I don't get barbecued by the radiation!
