Confession Is Good For The Soul

I have to come clean with y'all. As you know Luke Menard is from my little old hometown of Crawfordsville, Indiana. And while he is not my favorite, I do hope he makes it to the final twelve.

What I have kept a secret is that Amanda Overmyer used to work here in Crawfordsville at Crash McClain's. I am not sure if she lived here, but am assuming she did. I am not a fan of hers at all. I cannot believe she was not cut last night!

If you click on her name you will read an article on MSNBC that she was arrested in Crawfordsville in October 2006 for a DUI. But this is not why I haven't voted for her. I just don't think she can sing!

So see? American Idol is really putting Crawfordsville on the map!

On a final note, did any of you cry when Alaina Whitaker got kicked off? I felt so bad for her. And watching Luke pat David on the back when Alexandrea was singing her final song made me cry too. And then when she left the stage to give him a big old hug made me weep too!

So is it me or is it because I am also PMSing? Just wondering!

Things That Make Me Happy Today

I'm bored out of my skull today, but then I started thinking about all the things that have made me happy today. It makes me realize that life goes on and that's a good thing. No, it's a great thing!

Michelle from Big Blueberry Eyes had her little boy!! She posted the sweetest pictures of her two precious children. I am so happy for her and Joe! Congrats!!!

My friend Kimmy from Mission Kim Possible posted pictures of her visit with her great niece. Oh, is this baby girl precious! I could just eat her up. But I won't, don't worry!

I got a shower and am feeling fresh again! I know, most people take one everyday and I typically do, but I can't with this thing attached to my back. Not much longer though!

I did get some things accomplished today as far as work goes and that's always a good feeling!

My pastor called to check on me. He and his wife are just wonderful! Very caring folks for sure.

Plus my homie, Luke Menard, is on American Idol tonight!! I hope he livens up a bit this week and shows how good he is. We'll just have to wait and see. Go Luke!

And one more thing that made me happy today...my daughter bought me a new fuzzy wuzzy pillow! Oh, how I love me some pillows! I'll try it out tonight and see if it becomes a favorite.

Can You Say Ouch?

I usually love getting the mail each day. I've been receiving many cards and letters from women at church and long distance relatives. I love getting hand written letters. Nobody does that anymore, do they?

As I was opening my mail I saw a letter from the hospital. I thought to myself ~ I bet they want to see how I am feeling now. Isn't that sweet? Boy did I get a shock when I opened it up to see a bill for $22,320.97!!! For what?

I sat in the emergency room for over six hours waiting on a room. The only thing they did in there was take blood. Oh, and give me a handy dandy bag to vomit in. I had a semi-private room with a woman that cussed at her boyfriend until wee hours in the morning. I guess I did have surgery to attach my precious pee bag! LOL! I had a couple things of antibiotics. But other than that I don't know what else was done for me.

Maybe I was so out of it I just don't remember the pampering and spa treatments and gourmet meals that were fed to me for $22,320.97. Haha!

Praise the Lord I do have insurance! I'm not sure how much they will pay so I'll just have to save all my pennies until then. Plus I still need to show my husband the bill. That's the part I dread the most right now. Not sure how he will react.

Okay, enough about me! So YAY, Luke made it one more week on American Idol!! I hope he rocks the house next week so he can stay awhile, but I'm not sure. There is some hot talent this year. I love, love, love Jason Castro! I had taped the show and I have watched his performance a ton of times. Have you noticed some of the best talent is coming from some real youngsters? Good for them!

And please remember that I am at home with dial up. I am stopping by for visits, but I can't leave too many comments right now because it just takes way too long to download. Looking forward to going back to work so I can have my DSL! :o)

So Not Loving Donny

I never thought I would say this, but I am not loving Donny today. I just heard him say on Entertainment Tonight that my homie, Luke Menard, should go home!! Now I must admit Luke was not the best. But he certainly was not the worst. My daughter and I voted over and over and over for him last night. I hate that we have to wait until tomorrow to find out. And i forgot to tell you all that Luke is a christian! He's a super guy and I hope he gets at least one more chance to show his stuff. Sigh! Boo Donny!

And one more piece of news on me....I can't have my surgery until March 7th! Sadness. So I get to carry around my pee bag a couple more weeks. Hey, at least I'm saving on toilet paper right now...lol!

Well, I must go because the girls are up on American Idol in just a few minutes. There are two girls from Indiana so we'll see how they do!

My Homie

He's no Donny Osmond, but can we all say, "Yowza!" This is Luke Menard and he is from right here in Crawfordsville, Indiana. And HE is in the final 24 of American Idol!!!! Now how cool is that people?

I am grouchy though because I've been watching and they haven't showed him once singing or doing a background story on him. If you think he's good please vote for him!

If you've noticed I haven't been around much lately. Last week I was rushed to the ER. I have yet another kidney stone. Plus ecoli. Not sure how I got that. I had to have a minor surgery to attach a tube in my back so the urine can drain into a bag until I get the ecoli is gone. I will more than likely be having surgery to remove the stone because it is large. You know me. I can never do anything easy!

I also learned from from my cat scan that I have quite a large ovarian cyst and fluid around my heart. Fluid is common for people with Rheumatoid Arthritis so I am not too worried, but need to have it checked out.

So I am back to sitting on the side of my bed working again. In all honesty, I feel really, really bad this time around. I can't eat or concentrate on much of anything. But I'll be alright. Soon I hope.

No Writer's Strike Here

In the past several weeks I have been given these very sweet awards from my blogging friends! In the midst of my trial I must admit it feels good to know that you all are still with me! I am missing you guys more than you know.

Since I don't have a team of writer's that post for me I guess I'll write my own acceptance speech!

Thank you Donetta! I haven't been a very faithful commenter lately, but I think and pray for you daily. You are an inspiration to me to hold on tight to my faith and count my many blessings!

Thank you to my new friend Faith! I can't even remember how we came upon each other, but I am so thankful we did. I appreciate your encouraging words, challenging posts, and your prayers. Looking forward to building on our friendship!

Thank you to my girl Christine! I only wish the button had giraffes on it! LOL! You know I love you and can't wait to meet you. I wonder if when we get to Heaven we'll get in trouble for being rowdy and talking too much!

And thank you Marina for being my friend! You have had some difficult circumstances that's for sure. You have shown yourself faithful to our Lord and He has blessed you. You are such a sweet lady and beautiful not only on the outside, but inside as well!

Flashdancing

Could it be? I'm not quite sure but I may have had my first hot flash. I am only 43 years young people! I was at church talking away, as per the norm. All of the sudden I feel warmth come over me. Mostly in my neck area. Hmmm. Is it hot in here or is it just me?

My daughter looked at me and asked me why I was all red and splotchy. I smiled and said, "My first hot flash! I think." She laughed and said, "Only my mom would be all excited about hotflashes!"

Anybody out there with experience in this area yet? I'm not sure what to expect. Maybe I should do some research. Or blame my hot flashes on my love for you know who! LOL!

Until then I'm keeping my face buried in a bucket of snow. And it feels ever so good!

1000 Blessing's Friday & Friday's Feast

216. My husband's truck dumped the transmission last week which meant we were down to one car between us. We don't have the money to get it fixed but my blessing is that I have felt well enough to get up and go to work with him each morning! We don't have to be to work until 9:00 am, but sometimes I just don't move too well in the morning so it can take a little longer to get ready.

217. My mother had cataract surgery on Tuesday and I was able to take her to her appointments. She is doing very well and can already see better in that right eye. She'll have the left one done on February 12th. I am blessed in several ways. I can help her now that I can get in and out of the van and also blessed because I have such a terrific mom!

218. I am blessed with a wonderful, caring Pastor. He and his wife continue to counsel me and teach me all I need to know when dealing with my husband. I also have many things I need to work on as a christian. I am memorizing lots of scripture to reflect on when things are being said to me that are hurtful. At first I had a hard time with the memorization, but I stuck to it and I've been able to memorize many verses!

219. We've been blessed with several big orders from customers! We need money badly! Maybe we'll be able to get the truck fixed soon.

220. And what a blessing it is to go to Awana on Wednesday night! We have the sweetest little girl named Whitney that we all adore. She has fetal alchohol syndrome. She struggled with feeding herself, dressing herself, memorization, controlling temper...the list goes on. But what a change we have seen from the beginning of the year until now! We have no trouble with her in class. Ever. I think she has come to know how much we all love her and are there to help her. And she is memorizing her verses too and working so very hard! What a joy she is!

I love cereal as much as I love popcorn! I could eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner. So it’s hard for me to pick just one. I have always loved the Cap’n, as in CrunchBerries and Peanut Butter Crunch, but I also love me a bowl of Cheerios with bananas or strawberries on top!

Well, this is an exciting answer…we just bought a new water softener and put in the basement…WooHoo! Wanna feel how soft my hair is now? And it's frizzy too! I hate that water softener.

I love how my man always makes it into a Friday's Feast! I love the Pepsi Twist commercial with Ozzy Osborn when his kids "become" Donny & Marie Osmond and then when Ozzy calls for Sharon it's actually Florence Henderson! Now I wouldn't say this is the funniest commercial I've ever seen, but my memory ain't that good so this wil have to do!
